Programs
Nurturing Abilities, Fostering Growth, and Building Inclusivity at Ruby Mountain Resource Center.
Pre-Vocational Program
Ruby Mountain Resource Center mainly employs adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In our Pre-Vocational program they work with RMRC as a training unit. Job-coaches are employed to help the employees with disabilities, but their job does not stop with aiding these employees. Instead, this team is goal-driven. Through the work experience these teams track their successes through the development of long-term and daily goals. Progress is tracked every day with the aid of specific plans and paperwork for each participant.
The adults with disabilities, job-coaches, sales associates, and management work as a very close team to help the stores run smoothly, stay clean, and do their best to make the customers’ shopping experience a pleasant one.
Ruby Mountain Resource Center is, first and foremost, a job training center. This is the mission statement of the organization, and centers around helping the employees with disabilities overcome obstacles that keep them from working in the community. All of the other employees are dedicated to this goal, as well.
Day Habilitation Program
In addition to our pre-vocational program, we also provide a Day Habilitation program. In this program individuals with more profound disabilities work in a much smaller group with their Job Coaches. In these small groups Job Coaches assist these individuals with fine and gross motor skills through a variety of tasks and activities such as writing, crafts, puzzles, and interaction with RMRC staff as well as other participants. The goals of this program included further development of communication, social, and emotional skills through the use of interactive activities.

Additional Services
Ruby Mountain Resource Center offers fully confidential shredding services. The cost of shredding at RMRC is $25 per banker’s box. Contracts are also available at a discounted rate for companies and individuals with vast shredding needs. RMRC is always working on new initiatives. All of them revolve around bettering our employees, the stores, but most of all, the community.Â
The participants at Ruby Mountain Resource Center also make rags for workshop use! These rags are made from recycled t-shirts and sold in our thrift store.
Donate/Get Involved
The operations at Ruby Mountain Resource Center are almost entirely dependent on donations from the community. This is one of the ways that people in our area can both better the community as a whole, and also support the hard-working, and unique, population that RMRC employs. Donations should be taken to Ruby Mountain Thrift Store, where people can receive a donation receipt if they would like to use the donations as a tax write-off. Donation hours coincide with store hours, Monday-Saturday 9:30 am – 4 pm.Â
There are many ways to get involved at RMRC! Individuals, groups, and organizations can support RMRC by donating to the store, volunteering, or simply trying to shop at Ruby Mountain Stores before moving on to department stores. In any case, we are always appreciative of the community support that we receive!
